My name is Charles Jordan and I'm serving a 7 yrs. to life sentence for murder. I've been incarcerated since 1973 when I was 19 years old. I received the same sentence as the 2 other plaintiffs of the trial even though the actual killer was never identified.
We lifers sometime have a sense of guilt that weighs heavily and in an effort to make some restitution and give something back to society we look for a meaningful activity, even though it doesn't impact the victim.
While discussing this with another Lifer who had donated bone marrow he suggested that I write a proposal that would enable Lifers to donate their organs upon their death or even liver tissue or bone marrow now that could save a life. You can read my proposal on the next page.
If you think this is a good idea and would like to join me in advocating for this project I encourage you to write the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, 1515 S St. #101, Sacramento, CA 95811.
Words of encouragement for me would also be much appreciated.
